A small, friendly town where people are warm-hearted and greet each other with "Pura Vida" (pure life), Tambor is a perfect place for an active family vacation or just a relaxing, casual getaway.

Location:

Our home is situated in western Costa Rica, on Playa Tambor Beach on the Nicoya Peninsula, in the province of Punterenas. It is situated in a lush natural setting, surrounded by several natural reserves such as the prestigious Cabo Blanco park.

The house is a few minutes walk from the town center and yet has privacy. It is very comfortable and gracious and there is plenty of space for quiet moments. With lots of fans, natural hardwood, breathtaking bay views and breezes blowing in the fragrances of flowering trees, you will savor this time and be thankful to be alive! So read on and come visit!

On the beach side of the house, there are 80-plus-foot tall coconut palms, native banana and "pochote" trees. In addition, we have planted tropical fruit and flowering trees. The beach house is new and very bright, clean and airy.

Accommodation:

There are four bedrooms. Two on the main level; two on the upper level, each with a queen-size bed. Bed linens and towels are provided. There are two-and-a-half bathrooms - one full bathroom on the upper level and a bath-and-a-half on the lower level. There is a well for strong water pressure and hot water for bathing. Additionally, there is an enclosed outdoor shower in the yard on the beach side of the house. There is a washing machine for laundry and a fully-equipped Kitchen.

The upper level has a very large open loft which overlooks the living area below. Both the living room and the loft have futon couches that become queen-size beds. The dining table seats eight and the adjoining breakfast bar seats four. All of the indoor furniture is custom made by local craftsmen from un-endangered natural woods indigenous to Costa Rica. There is also a table and eight chairs for the outdoor patio.

Casa Buganvilla is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast; hikers, explorers, animal and bird watchers or the avid beach goer. Tours are available for waterfalls, tree climbing, nature hikes, trips to nearby parks, horseback riding and more.

Fishermen come from all over to tackle the area's World-class sport fishing for Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, Sailfish, Snook, Roosterfish and more.

Cabo Blanco Natural Reserve. A beautiful refuge for sea birds, including brown pelicans, frigate birds and brown boobies.

Village and waterfalls of Montezuma. Flowing from the river of the same name, the magnificent Montezuma waterfalls are surrounded by lush forest. Nearby is the village of Montezuma, whose beautiful beaches can be explored.

ATV Quad Bike tour. This tour offers the opportunity to view stunning natural landscapes, cross the Pánica River, swim in one of its four waterfalls and visit the village of the same name.
